Golden color, large flakes of lime peel I assume? Nice head clings to glass. Smells of lime, honey, citrus, salt.
Taste is an interesting mix of lime, honey, mild citrus hops. Really mild bitterness on the end, and a surprisingly noticeable alcohol warmth after a while.
It’s an ipa, but it isn’t.... really like an import lager crossed with an ipa. Might be good with some lime and salt. I’d drink this again, absolutely— would be delicious skiing, on a hot day, with some tacos....

a unique ipa here, also mexican inspired, done with agave nectar and lime peel. i think these ingredients are quite a bit more subtle in here than the mango and lemon peel are in their fragrant golden ale, this is much more mellow, more hops first, and another solid offering in their lineup, really clever stuff happening here! a very light copper orange color to this, nice head from the bottle, not quite clear, but still well refined looking to me. aroma and flavor have less sweetness than anticipated with the agave nectar and the maltier color, its fairly delicate on the grain side really. we have a somewhat generic hop profile though, more bitter than aromatic or flavorful, although there are some notes of orange peel, mango, and weed to it, its just not as interesting as i was hoping for. the agave balanced a pretty high alpha acid bitterness through, and the beer is smooth to drink, so that part is dialed, but i thought this might be more expressively dry hopped or something, its not real exciting on the hop side. the lime is all in the finish and also has some pithy bitterness, so this definitely drinks like ipa. the lime is fresh and natural too, not overdosed, and this is tasty overall, but may not be at maximum freshness as the hops seem just a little faded. that said though, im stoked on this brewery and their creative recipes!
