A dark brown beer with a creamy head.
The smell is malty with the dark malts adding a subtle nutty and slught chocolate smell.
The taste is malty and the beer has subtle hints of the dark malts, which do not stand out. The taste is nice but all average. The bottom fermented character is clean and leaves only a trace of sulfur.

Excellent example of a light bodied Dunkel.
Attrractive golden brown color in the glass with streaming clouds of lacing. Pleasing creamy carbonation that lasts to the last sip. Interesting effervescent mouthfeel makes it a pleasure to savor. The well-balanced mix of soft malt and restrained hops is both simple and clean. As good a beer in this style as I've ever had. Glad to find a beer, like a good English mild, that provides a lot of flavor without overwhelming flavors and potency.
Tasted half-litre bottle bought in Passau, Germany, home of the brewery. Their bold colored delivery trucks and signs are everywhere in Passau, but it's not as easy to find on tap.
