Copenhagen 4/8 2021. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Krenkerup’s usual white label with gold border and bragging about a golden European Beer Star.
Pours unclear dark brown with a mid-sized off-white head. Settles as very thin, almost transparent layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet, malty almost sugary scent mingling with light earthy notes. Caramel, toffee, lightly toasted dark malts. Hints of wet soil.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is surprisingly bitter with a sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is fairly dry.
Sweet nose but not without bitter bite.

Dark amber/light brown color. Appears clear. Smaller but lasting head. Plentiful spots left on the glass.
Molasses sweet dark malt nose. No offsetting bitterness.
The sweetness, now in the form of caramel, continues in the taste. Rich bodied with a level amount of carbonation. There’s a light sourness in the swallow along with a balancing bittering hop. Moderate aftertaste.
