Black Rabbit is the epitome of our favorite phrase "dark is not a flavor"; it is extremely dark in color, yet unbelievably light bodied. Brewed with Black Patent and Chocolate malts, Grains of Paradise, Fuggle hops, then dry hopped with Lemondrop - this lager has an incredible roasted flavor, a hint of citrus, with a clean, dry finish.

Canned on 9/11/2019. Poured into a pint glass. It pours a very dark walnut - approaching black - with a significant, fluffy, light khaki head and significant lacing. A subdued nose with buttery malt and lite citrus. The taste opens with fairly sweet, roasty malt and hints of chocolate, which balance nicely with notes of bright lemon peel, grapefruit rind, and herbs. The Fuggle hops provide a taste that reminds me of an English pub ale. The flavor is actually quite unique. For 5.6% ABV, the feel is fairly creamy and viscous and it's certainly easy to drink. Overall, Black Rabbit is a bit hard to describe. The balance of roasty chocolate malt and tart citrus works well and the mouth feel is surprisingly luxurious. This Lager really grew on me as I drank it. It has enough flavor to pair with a burger, cheese steak or other pub fare. But it's also appropriate for casual drinking. Toms River is on to something here and this is a beer to watch.
