Tastes like a hoppy lager. Too much lager

This was an above average IPA which I had on tap on Long Beach Island; taste was mostly tangerine and grapefruit with some sweetness, floral notes and light peppery aspects. Good feel that went down easy, I thought it had a perfect name to celebrate the July 4th weekend.

16 ounce can in a tulip IPA glass. About 30 days aged.
Cloudy golden orange color. The cap is 2-plus F of snow white fluff that retains and leaves raw cotton sticky lacing.
Dank and citrusy. Aroma of grapefruit rind and fresh pine sap. Fresh cut soft wood.
Pithy grapefruit rind flavor. Lemon zest, raw unripened citrus. Pine greens.
Zesty medium body. Intense hop bitterness and enduring citrus. Wheat plays in the feel nicely. And the right abv.
Wow, a good un’! An outstanding American IPA hidden behind an unattractive name and label.

Had this on draft.
A: poured a hazy, golden body with a small white head with nice retention and lacing.
S: sweet, citrusy smell with some sweet maletines
T: sweet, not overly hopped citrus taste with an earthy finish; hints of lemongrass in the back of the mouth
M: pretty smooth and crisp
O: pretty solid beer; balanced and refreshing.

This isn't just another IPA. Excellent, complex taste that isn't too bitter, but has just the right amount of bite. Pleasing color when poured into a glass, although admittedly I drank most of these right from the can. Clean with no lingering aftertaste.

Pours hazy yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is fruity citrus, maybe lemon. Taste is sweet with some hop bitter notes. Feel is good, smooth and coating. Overall a decent IPA.

Pours a big three finger head of just off-white foam, the creamy surface pocked by bubbles popping, complicated web of thin lacing left behind. Cloudy yellow liquid. The lactose addition makes it smell like whipped cream and at times might be part of a coconut custard blast, has an unusual perfumey profile, fruity and took some time to concentrate but not getting much hops presence, more grains if anything, pear, apple, kiwi fruit, apricot pit, left me a bit back on my heels. Light-bodied, perhaps over-carbonated for the primary material. Melon, kiwi, peach fruit, nice and juicy. Here too the hoppiness seems an afterthought, even though it does turn pleasingly dry through the finish. Not getting any citrus. Again with the coconut custard thing. No flaws and believe it adheres to the maker’s intent. Sort of weird beer, honestly not sure what to make of it. (Canned 11/10/20)
