Served in a willibecher at the brewery.

A: Crystal clear pale gold with 1-finger frothy white head with good retention and tight lacing.

S: Solid aroma profile with lean pale and slightly grassy pils malt with spicy, herbal noble hops notes throughout.

T: Flavor doesn’t quite pull together as nicely as the nose, but it is enjoyable nonetheless. The grassy pils maltiness doesn’t quite mesh with the spicy dry-hopped noble hop character. Clean and well-crafted with no esters.

M: Feel is crisp and clean with light body, spritz carbonation, and a dry finish.

o; Chant Dry-Hopped Pilsner is a solid beer. I wish they decreased the spicy component of the hop profile and went more toward floral, but that’s just a personal flavor preference. Chant is a solid go to pilsner for those who really love spicy noble hopped lagers.

A: Slightly cloudy gold, fluffy white head with good retention.

A: Floral & bready

F: semi-sweet, a touch of lemon, spicy with moderated bitterness.

M: medium to light bodied, drying, short clean finish with trailing bitterness.

O: Very nice. Clean, crisp and refreshing. Goes well with any of the food at Bold Monk. Has a moderate to low bitterness but balancing.

Appearance: Yellow-toned body with good clarity underneath a lofty, fine white head.

Smell: Lightly sweetish barley on the aroma smelling of baked bread, dough studded with cracked grains and faint hints of citrus, spice.

Taste: Lightly bready, grainy with a subtle sweetness. Hops provide touches of citrus, easy-going florals and light herb with a soft supporting bitterness. Finishes clean with a little zip of suds.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Lightly spritely mouthfeel.

Overall: Pleasant offering. Eminently quaffable.

Poured from an undated can into a mason jar, pale straw, transparent with a faint chill haze and a frothy fingers worth of head. Aromas of European hops and light biscuity malt. Rounded flavor, crackery malt, clean finish. Overall, not quite a classic Pilsner, but something softer, yet still crushable and deeply enjoyable.
