An India pale ale that rises above the narrow and reaches the ecstasy of the complex with a tropical hop character, a balanced mouthfeel, and a slight haze in its appearance.
Hops: South African Southern Passion, US Citra, Lotus, Simcoe, Azacca
Malts: Rahr Pilsner Malt, Flaked Oats

Had at Bold Monk, Atlanta, twice on draft into weird tapered IPA glass.
Pours cloudy old-gold, with 1-finger, creamy near-white head, with excellent retention, leaving thick rings of Belgian lace draped down the glass. Aromas of sweet and tangy tropical fruit and bitter herbals off pour, then a little mild malt, and aromas of berries, fresh florals and persimmon as warms. On tasting, begins oat smooth and creamy, and mildly malty, then herbal hop bite begins, interrupted by just a bit of tangy tropical fruit, and mild orange, before growing into more herbal hop bite, which carries over some caramel into an ever more bitter finish.
Despite a rather exotic hop bill, this beer drinks pretty much standard, malty, aggressive American IPA, except classy.

Bought in a rush from the brewery’s to-go cooler. Hard to read date on grocery sticker on 6-pack holder. Thought it said May 27 but on closer look MARCH 27.
A: Dusky amber hue of an oxidized beer. Short cap of beige head with minimal lacing.
S: Mild aroma overall with green hop character and peach/mango but overall pretty herbal. No malt character whatsoever. Light herbal-floral ester.
T: Flavor is off-putting with cloying twang of tannins with oxidized paper note and herbal hop notes with dulled grapefruit. Malt character is absent likely due to oxidation. Bitterness is medium.
M: Medium body with low carbonation and cloying lightly astringent finish.
O: Shared Spirit was a very big disappointment after enjoying their maibock and dry-hopped pilsner from the taproom. Stale tasting and oxidized. I doubt this is what the brewer’s intent was but sell fresh beer from your own to-go area at least.

Poured from an undated can into a mason jar with a finger’s worth of pillowy head that crackles with carbonation. The color of hazy peach juice and totally opaque. Aromas of pine, pineapple, maybe a hint of raspberry.
When I poured the can all the way out there was some sediment that I’m guessing may have been hop powder as the finish is dry, chalky and somewhat unpleasant. It dies down a little as the beer sits, but it’s off putting to me personally. I’m going to pour my next can slowly and omit the last bit in the hopes of avoiding the sediment.
The beer has some nice qualities to it, I’d like to see it with a different hopping technique.

Appearance: Pours a sensibly hazed, lightly murky, straw-toned body with an inch of wholesome white foam.
Smell: Rustic raw grain goulash topped with hop notes smelling of passion fruit, mild melon, florals and citrus with an undercurrent of vanilla.
Taste: Soft, cushiony malts, a little bready but definitely embodies that coarse, raw vibe one finds these days, minus the occasional paste-like pitfall. Tropical, citrusy (minutely pithy), floral and subtly melony with a hint of vanilla cream. Medium bitterness. Blends its raw, grainy elements with the bitterness-tinged, lightly resinous hop qualities through the creamy yet reasonably crisp finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Noted creaminess to the mouthfeel from the inclusion of raw barley, wheat and/or oats.
Overall: Falls in step with the parade of, oh, whatever you wish to call them - contemporary, modern, straight-up-now IPA's. Some are trash, some excel, some are middle-of-the-road. This one's pretty solid.
