Appearance: Clear, dark brown with ruby highlights. Frothy off-white head with compact bubbles.
Aroma: Dark fruit, grapes, maybe a little floral.
Flavor: Malt forward and complex. Dark fruit esters of raisins & grapes. Some spiciness. Seems sweet but is actually quite dry. Bitterness is restrained but notable.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, a little creamy, moderate to high carbonation. Medium length, dry finish with a hint of bitterness that dissipates slowly. Alcohol does present as a little warming.
Overall: Rich malty profile accented by dark/dried fruit esters and spiciness. Seems sweet at the start but is surprisingly dry all the way through to the finish. Bitterness is retrained but present enough to provide some balance and doesn't build significantly as you drink. Forms a nice, long lasting head when poured properly. Alcohol remains somewhat hidden in the aroma and flavor, but it becomes a little warming as you get halfway through the glass. You'd never know you are drinking a 7.3% Dubbel. A very good quality, Belgian style Dubbel.

Look: Dark copper pour with a white head that vaporized to a thin ring around the glass. Medium lace.
Smell and Taste: Bread notes and semi-sweet up front with a lingering pungent aftertaste.
Feel: Dry and seltzer like.
Overall: I don't usually pick up Duddels but took a chance on this one. Somewhat mediocre in my opinion.

Admittedly, I’m not a connoisseur of Belgian Dubbles, so all that follows should be with that caveat.
Poured from an undated can into a snifter glass with a fingers worth of big bubbles head that dissipates after a few minutes, but clings stoically to the edges. Discipline Dubbel is the color of cherry wood, fairly translucent in the light, but the color itself is difficult to see through. Aroma of prune, fig, and honey. Smooth with a surprisingly dry finish. Flavors of raisin, pumpkin bread, and Grand Marnier. Overall, the notes are all classic dubbel, perhaps a touch drier than most Belgian versions, though please see my opening comment before holding me to that. Quite enjoyable, would happily have another, though preferably not too many in one evening.

Appearance: Pours a clearish, tanned amber-brown body with a medium-sized, off-white head.
Smell: A dull, earthy nose of dried herb, spice adjoined to a kick of mottled fruitiness
Taste: Sweetish, notably malty with a strong breadcrust breadiness fused with a dried, crackling, crunchy treacle and brown sugar glaze. A chopped melange, a chutney of raisins, banana and apple chips with some snippets of citrus. Herbal, earthy, spiciness combination of hops and yeast phenolics. Presents just enough alcohol warmth, enough 'mmph, without being overbearing, without being obnoxious.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Very pleasant, very drinkable, quite nice.
