Picked up a 32 oz Crowler from the brewery today 7-16-20 for $12.00. Released for consumption 7-10-20.
Beer poured black with a very nice tan head that has some nice hang time.
Nose is medium roasted malts with a touch of citrus in the background.
Taste is a substantial black malt base that feels lighter than the gravity that combines nicely with a huge dose of Cascade hops that lends a nice grapefruit and pine balanced finish which is slightly on the roasty and bitter side; 6/10 on my bitterness scale.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.
Overall one of the nicest BIPA's i have had in the last 5 years, definitely nails the old school style without being astringent or too overly bitter.
