Copenhagen 20/8 2021. 25 cl from tap at Taphouse, Lavendelstræde, Kbh. K.
Pours opaque dark brown with a mid-sized beige head. Settles as thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet dark malty odor mingling with a bit of bitter coffee scent. Chocolate, brown sugar, cocoa and vanilla. Bitter espresso. A bit of alcohol rummaging in the background.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry and boozy.
Powerful and potent and strangely restrained. Almost manages to hide the impressive ABV.
