Picked up on a recent trip. Color was goldenrod, one finger head but lots of forming bubbles on the side, well carbonated. Lovely beer in a glass.
Nose had a pineapple/grapefruit odor, some resin, and after a few minutes developed a sweeter fruity tone.
First note on taste was the balance. Several aspects but none overly dominant to the detriment of others. The taste was reminiscent of lime with some grapefruit backing but not as tart, although certainly not sweet. Some malt sweetness at the end, which was likely present all along and balanced out the tart of the hops nicely. Some bitterness and pine but not overly present.
Nice mouth feel.
I'd pair this with smoky BBQ, I think the lime forward flavor would add a nice sweetness.
Overall a very pleasant beer. As with most single hop beers, there was a dominant flavor (lime), but overall it was a leader of the flavors, not masking the others. Excellent balance between sweet and tart, bitterness and smoothness. Well done.
