Dark red amber colour, with a two finger off-white head that recedes slowly and lingers for the entire pint. The smell is very promising, with raisins, dark fruits, and piney hops. Unfortunately the taste doesn't quite live up to the aroma. All the elements from the aroma are there, but the dark fruits are quite muted, and the taste passes very quickly. The piney hops is a bit more noticeable on the tongue, but still subtle. The mouthfeel is very easy to drink, and much lighter than you might expect based on the colour and the aroma. Overall this beer is not a huge departure from the English Mild style, and there is nothing bad about it, but the flavour is more muted and short-lived than I would like.

Appearance - Pours a copper red with two fingers of copper head.
Smell - earthy and leafy hops, dark fruits (fig, plum, raisin), bready malts, toffee, caramel, and earthy yeast.
Taste - earthy and leafy hops upfront then quickly goes into the dark fruits (fig, plum, raisin). The bready malts, caramel, toffee, and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with the dark fruits and malts lingering.
Overall - A pleasant English dark mild that boasts a flavourful malt and fruit profile. Another rare gem found here in Cowtown!
