Review from notes. On tap at the Brain. Served cold into a German style glass beer mug.
Appearance - Reddish brown brew with two fingers of light brown head. Good clarity and modest retention.
Smell - Malty with some brown sugar, bready notes and dark fruit, namely prunes.
Taste - Bready with dark fruits, moderate bitterness, full depth of flavor. Wonderful stuff.
Mouthfeel - Pretty smooth, medium-full body and middling carbonation.
Overall - One of the best pints (or three) that I've enjoyed in 2025.
