American Pale Ale brewed on the premises of the Montevecchio Mine, a site of the Geomineral Park of Sardinia between the municipalities of Guspini and Arbus, in the Province of Medio Campidano, in the southwestern part of the island of Sardinia.
Unspecified American hops were used (I'd say something like Centennial, Citra, or Comet, more herbaceous and bitter than explosively aromatic or fruity), grown in Italy.
33cl can (€5 from the pub fridge).
In the can: "Batch: L: 223 25 L - Best before: 03/2027".
Aroma with soft, slightly caramelized malty notes and fresh herbaceous/citrus notes.
VERY VERY CLEAN golden color (it seems lagered with special enzymes), abundant and lightly textured head.
Soft body, almost no carbonation.
On the palate, the drink is as "clear" as its color: quick and easy, but a bit flat (it lacks the liveliness of the fizz).
The malty notes (wheat, biscuit, caramel) open the mouthfeel, and these are quickly interspersed with woody, herbaceous notes (spinach, resin) and light citrus notes (grapefruit), which quickly lead to a finish that still has a soft finish, with a cereal aftertaste (crackers, breadstick) that lingers on the tongue.
The bitterness is present, but minimal and... light, like the rest of the drink.
Easy to drink, quite thirst-quenching, but a bit too "flat" and lacking a real peak worthy of being remembered.
A great presence, certainly in line with the standards and without being banal, but also without a sensation that makes you say "Wow!"
