This is an interesting concept, and one where they seem to be on point from the start. This is a Cidery that opened this week, but the also have two year round beers at the moment. This is in an odd shopping complex, and currently tons of construction around the area. Though once you find the place, it very casual. The taproom build out is particularly interesting. With a long bar, huge wood accents that are impressive and a great patio outside.
Service is prompt, and they are very knowledgeable on their products. They had about six house Ciders, a few guest taps of other ciders and wine, along with their two year round beers. They make a Belgian Pale Ale, called Rule G and a West Coast IPA called Tin Lizard. Both are good examples of the style. Some breweries around the Houston area could learn a thing or two, and the IPA specifically puts some to shame. I'm hoping they can put some more rotating styles when they get a chance, but the main thing here is and should be the ciders.
The ciders are no joke either. They make two dry ciders that are more European in style, that I really enjoy. Much better than a lot of the sickly sweet American examples. The have a small kitchen that puts out a burger, pizza, just a few apps, and salads. Which are slightly more elevated than that sounds, and are good.
A good addition to the Houston scene. I will be back to enjoy the patio and the variety of both ciders and beer. This will be in the same building as the new Urban South Brewery from NOLA, so a good pub crawl spot as well.
