No Coast Extra IPA is deceptively smooth -packed full of sticky resin & bright candy hops. Golden orange in color.

16oz can. Bottom stamp is '05/05/25 GET HIGH', about eighteen weeks in the can.
Cloudy, deep gold colored body. One finger of white head, and this settles back to a pillow cap and high ring. Leaves behind partial lacing walls.
Aroma of toasted grain malt and citrus/tropical fruit - orange and mango.
Taste is fruity sweet but also has an herbal bitterness. Flavors of mango, orange, tangerine, and toasted grain malt. Has a hint of pine resin. Towards the end, and continuing in the aftertaste, an herbal sourness comes to the fore, and overpowers any sweetness.
Medium mouthfeel. Slight stickiness. Actual palate wrecking bitterness is low. Very good carbonation.
Bottom third of the pour gets away from the sour bitterness and opens to more stonefruit expressions such as apricot and peach.

Bottom of the can is stamped "20289". Does this mean a September 28, 2020 canning date? I have no idea.

A - Dark orange hazy pour with thin bright white lacing and moderate carbonation.

S - Candied citrus aroma that is lightly moderate, aroma is sticky but not very forward. There's also some malt sweetness on the nose with a slight bit of peppery spice.

T - Candied tropical fruit with peppery spice, the sweetness is coming from nectarine and mango. As I work through this 16 oz can the hops build and coat the mouth with a resiny, herbal coating of peppery fruit rind.

M - Big, thick body that's dry on the back of the tongue.

O - The nose is light and the taste initially starts out tamely on the fruity side. I like the way the hops build towards the bottom of the can so gave this a "4" overall.

Pours a golden, slightly hazy, body with a one finger foam that quickly subsided to a thin ring of bubbles along the circumference. Some lacy suds drapes the glass (poured into a tulip glass). Citrus aroma is prominent, and I feel I get some nectarine and mango notes. There’s a notable sweetness before the hops pervades the palate. Nice effervescent mouth feel, but a tad bitterness on the ending.

Solid and nice to try a beer that isn’t in the radar.
