On tap at Cigars International in Wesley Chapel, FL. This is exactly what this style lager should taste like.

Poured a seethru, straw gold body with two-finger head that left lots of lace down the glass. The aroma comes across as minor pils malt with some lager smell. Smooth, light to medium body, has a slightly sticky sweetness from pils malt as well as some grassy, herbal hoppiness. Beer is well balanced, light, and easy to drink with a mildly sweet finish.

Reviewed from notes: Consumed with pizza immediately prior to Tampa Bay Lightning game in March 2024:
BarrieHaus Export Lager is an excellent example of a Dortmunder-style lager — clear, bready aroma, great balance of bready pils maltiness with moderate noble hopping with a light-medium body and crisp, dry finish.
No I wish I had made it a point to make it to BarrieHaus!

On tap at Fattey Beer Company in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a nice golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like slight mineral tones, honey, bready malt, some grain, and a touch of grassy hops.
I don’t see too many dortmunders/export lagers/whatever anymore, so I’m a bit rusty on the style, but this feels pretty spot on to me. It’s very bready, slightly minerally and grassy, with a touch of honey sweetness, and a very crisp bite on the finish.
This is light bodied, clean, and super crisp, with a great drinkability.
This was super pleasant and very easy to drink.

A: Pours a relatively clear medium golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and a moderate amount of bright yellow + brassy colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall fizzy sudsy foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of medium thick film covering approximately 90% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of biscuit + slightly toasted + grainy malts with a light to moderate amount of grainy sweetness and a touch of minerality. Light to moderate aromas of lager yeast. Light aromas of grassy + spicy hops.
T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of biscuit + slightly toasted + grainy malts with a light to moderate amount of grainy sweetness and a touch of minerality. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of lager yeast. Finally there are light flavors of grassy + spicy hops which impart a light to moderate amount of lingering bitterness which eventually finishes clean.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth with a relatively clean finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasant mouthfeel. Enjoyable and not a style that you find a lot of American breweries churning out.
