On tour with a rock band called Boneclub, I had this beer in 1993 in Germany in the city of Ehingen. It was an outdoor concert in the town square with lots of food and plenty of this beer. A city with a robust bicycling culture. The beer as I recall is fairly light, light in color, malty, gently dry and lightly sweet. Poured, it has a large rocky white head. It has a fairly fast finish. Very refreshing and easy drinking. I would enjoy having it again.

Mittenwalder Pils
"schlankes, frisches Spitzenbier mit feiner Hopfennote"
On tap (2 August 2012) in a pils glass at the brewery.
A very light and crystal clear yellow with a large frothy head.
The head left substantial sticky lacing and had good retention. Less
visible carbonation than expected for the style of glass and beer.
This pils smelled and tasted a bit more flowery than it should, sweet
up front and surprisingly bitter in the finish, although this does not
linger long.
M: light body; medium carbonation. Seems a bit acidic.
O: recommend avoid; get the excellent Keller bier instead.

This beer pours a golden color with a nice frothy head and lots of carbonation.
Smell was dominated by malt with some sulfuric notes, slightly hoppy and something flowery.
Taste was malty and slightly bitter. The sulfur in the smell was not apparent. There was a spent grain taste, which was nice. Body was thin, but suits the style.
Quite a nice beer for a brewery this small, nothing spectaculair, but very good in style.
