Mittenwalder Keller-Bier
Unfiltered lager vom Lagertank "zwickelt"
.5L glass served on tap at Brauerei Mittenwald
Clear golden yellow with ample fine carbonation and a large white head that has excellent retention and very good glass coating.
The aroma is a simple but quite appetizing toasted malt with light yeast; very bready. These are also primary characteristics of the taste, but a balancing bitterness and some herbal and spice notes reveal a substantial hop contribution.
M: smooth but also lively and crisp, with somewhat aggressive carbonation. Dry finish.
O: even with somewhat limited experience, I am confident this is a stellar example of the style. Excellent with or without food.
