This Pils is exactly what it should be really - very crisp and very clean tasting. It pours a clear gold colour with a fair amount of head, although it disappears too quickly for the style. The smell has hints of grass and is just generally quite pleasing. Great mouthfeel. It's definitely worth a try.

Gorgeous pils, super thick creamy, fluffy head on pale gold body with lots of lazy carbonation. Light malty aroma, and mostly malt in the taste, along with light hops. AMouthfeel is appropriate with a little zing on the palate. Much better than I anticipated and better than some of the big German pils (i.e Bitburger)

33cl stubby, Germany.

Funny peel-off cap, almost grenade style. Never seen that before!

Pale, clear yellow-gold. Short-lived head, some lacing.

Aroma is pungent and excellent. Loads of dank Noble hops with notes of earth, minerals and lemon.

Much less bitter than expected, but still pretty good. Sweet biscuity malts perhaps overcompensate for the hop flavor, though there's nothing to really complain about. Musty, earthy hop flavor. Finish is clean and a little too swift. Smooth drinking, but not too inspiring.

This was the German "beer of the year" in 2003 or 2004, I think. Didn't really show me anything too special this time around.
