pretty sure this was mosaic last year but its sabro now, and its wonderful, maybe my favorite of the three fresh hop beers i had from these guys this season, maybe barely second to the mosaic is fresh. they really did some good work in this space! this is hazy but really pale and light still, lower in alcohol and in body, meaning it really drinks easy, and the hops can stand out without being weighted down. sometimes i get green onion in sabro, especially wet like this, but i dont here. instead its a really cool fruity bouquet, with tangerine and clementine, lemon and lime, and super ripe papaya and melon, drippy wet and fresh to me, juicy and even a little bitter which is cool and uncommon in these. the flavor is as good as the nose, i think its pretty recognizable as sabro despite the nuance, and i get more stone fruit out of it as it warms, even as it stays tropical. some marijuana character too as a lot of these wet hop beers have, a real clean ferment, and just a bit more bitter finish than most, which helps the finish seem fast. medium body, fresh and clean taste and feel, just a bit of oily hop linger. the quality is excellent, its a cool showcase of sabro, and overall i think lumberbeard is on fire. good ideas and great execution across the board. glad so much of their beer is coming down to idaho!

A hazy light orange with a dense, off-white head with good retention and lacing, this looks solid. The nose has a nice Mosaic-hop tangerine character. A little fresh hop aroma is present. A touch rancid. There's also a mild grassy character. Not a whole lot going on. The palate opens with a blend of hop burn, mildly grassy, with mandarin, orange, tangerine and some pineapple. Nice fruit flavor, but not a whole lot of fresh hop character. Initially this is overcarbonated and watery, but it improves as the carbonation dies down. Moderate carbonic acidity remains. Disappointing.
