L:
-pours the darkest of brown with no light coming through and a medium,frothy,light-brown head
S:
-prunes,coffee,chocolate,raisins,faint vanilla
T:
-Follows the nose plus cherry liqueor, cardboard and a faint toasty finish
F:
-low to medium carbonation,full body
-slightly boozy
O:
Just Good, not complex enough to compete with the really good BA Beers.
I also really missed a peated Islay character in aroma and taste.

Pous as black as the other versions, while leaving back a nice, bubbly lacing.
Has aromas of roasted, slightly wet, peated malts, along with hints of wooden barrel qualities. The woodenness then gets joined by slightly toffeeish aromas, both going very well along together, with the peated wood being more present.
Drinks throughout smooth with lots of cream among bakers chocolate and earthy coffee. A toffeeish maltiness hits the palate together with slightly hot Islay Whiskey, adding to the earthy flavors by providing a gentle amount of bog, while the sweeter notes end up a little bit shorter in this version. Ends with a complex oakiness along molasses, a gentle hot bite and a note of dry coffee. Outstandingly well balanced with many subtle notes, perfectly calibrated to each other, while the bog adds to the malt base.
