Despite its lower alcohol content, the Surtaler Schankbier is a robust beer and, at 3.5% alcohol, is stronger than most of its genre. It is a tasty alternative to all mixed beer drinks.

Pours a clear yellow with soapy head.
Smell is crisp and crackery with some herbal hints. Notes of citrus, wheat dough and toast with some floral hints.
Taste is crisp and crackery with a soft bitterness. Very easy to drink with notes of citrus, Saltines and toast.
Mouthfeel is thin to medium with good carbonation.
Overall, a very nice, easy to drink lager.

Another beer that I purchased in Germany but drank by the pool in Singapore.
L: Crystal clear golden with a short-lived white head. No carbonation.
S: Sweet, dusty malt.
T: Clean, sweet, biscuity malt. Mild earthy bitterness.
M: Smooth and rounded. Minimal carbonation, which probably adds to the sweetness.
O: Very easy drinking but perhaps a touch too sweet.
Cheers!
