On the board at the brewery tagged as a "Cold IPA".
I know a little bit about beer and had never heard of a cold IPA other than describe it's temperature when consumed so I was intrigued, so I asked the young lady who'd greeted me with a friendly hello, what exactly was a cold IPA?
I was informed that it was lagered and spends more time in the tank giving it more hop flavor. Ok....
Cold fermented I assume she meant but she didn't know ( or ask) if a lager yeast was used but still, enough info to inform.
Cloudy and opaque with suspended starchy flotsam, big bubbled white head of foam left some lace behind.
Aroma is citrus and a little more citrus - lemons and grapefruit and mangos Oh MY! (yawn)
The flavor is weak and full of tart grapefruit and little else.
Body is thin and crisp - cold!
Aftertaste is tart and herbal - best part of the glass.
