Enjoyed from a 0.5l bottle, gifted to me by BA jamesw last Fall in München. Has a best by date of 26JAN14, but I've kept it cool and dark.
Poured a clear, deep copper or light chestnut color; take your pick! Carbo was steady and plentiful, and the head was tan, thin, tight and fine, with a touch of lacing. Nose was quite nice, with malty caramel and some toffee coming forth. Body was just about a medium, and it had a light bit of prickle on the tongue.
Flavor was similar to the aroma - malty caramel and some toffee. Also displayed a hint of nuttiness, like almonds. The finish had some earthy hops which tended to be a bit more bitter as the bier warmed. All in all, a decent rendering of the style. Thnx Iain! Prosit!!
