This is an American Pale ale made with hops playing center stage. The unique simcoe hop flavors this beer. Juicy malt keeps a lovely balance. A portion of oats provide a creamy texture.

Received a medium orange glass. Not a great head, but what was there left some lace.

Fresh toasted malt, some grain, light hop leaf spice in the nose.

Surprise for me. Grapefruit rind hoppiness, toasted malt, a little boiled grain, some bread and light fruit to balance the bitterness.

Medium bodied -- a little mushy.

Not bad brew. Liked the hoppiness and would have again.

The first beer I tried at this establishment and it was quite good. Pours a copper color with a great hoppy, spiced aroma. The bartender explained this was a Pale Ale but there were plenty of hops in there to make it an IPA. So the flavor was nice and hoppy, slightly sweet, with nice crisp bitterness in the finish. I hope they don't switch it out because I look forward to having it again. She said it was one of their more popular choices so I think I've got a good chance.

Poured a cloudy copper hue with a one and a half finger white foamy head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell was subtle and mostly malty. A slight flowery hop aroma was detected.

The taste was very well balanced. A good citrus peppery flavor was complimented and supported by a solid doughiness.

The mouthfeel was good with good carbomation.

Overall a highly drinkable APA.

On my lastest trip to Martha's I couldn't wait to see what was on cask. Last time it was the velvet elvis stout. This tiem it was another ale. Since I was determined to have a cask pint I ordered it. Good choice!

A - Hazy, reddish golden color. Nice white head that settled quickly and lingered mostly on the sides of the glass.

S - Mild aromas - some bread, some light ripe fruit and a definite hops bouquet. I don't drink many amber ales but while not overboard it was a bit hoppier in the nose than I expecdted.

T - Similar to the smell. The malt had a better backbone than I expected which is a plus in my book! Almost a traditional IPA taste to it.

M - another tweener - not quite light, not quite medium bodied. Cop-out maybe? Definitely a beer that is enjoyable in today's temps and doesn't fill you up too much.

D - Oh yeah! Another cask hit at Marthas. I love second beer for a penny thursday happy hour!

What was I thinking, driving an hour to drink beer on St. Patrick's Day? This was sooo worth it. On cask, it's the real thing--a true session ale.

First it presents as an amber brew with the barest hint of haze, and a not quite white head with a lovely soap bubble texture.

A piny scent on the breeze invites you to drink.

Though a hair on the warm side, the perfect tender mouthfeel glides right in, so light and airy you drink half the glass without realizing.

It's hard to stop drinking its bready malt with sticky, lingering resin and just a hint of grass in the hops. My only disappointment is no hint of yeasty-type fruitiness.

I managed to get two pints before the cask kicked, and it wasn't enough.

Had on tap at the brewpub. Medium light golden, the thin white head clung to all sides of th glass as I imbibed. More malt present in the aroma than hops. This is actually a mild, easy to drink beer. No big moments, but might do as a session. I don't know though, I need just a touch more to bring me back over and over again.

This bier was most welcome after trying the Dunkelweizen.... Thank you sir, may I please have Another.... I then assumed the position....

Poured a clear, medium golden hue... even lovelier when backlit... Head was off-white and frothy, lightly rocky, with excellent lace sticking in the glass. Aroma was a smidge bready yet replete with floral hops without going overboard. Medium bodied and smooth, the mouthfeel was solid in all respects.

A lovely bier! Light toasted malt aspects provide an easy touch of sweetness followed by a solid floral hoppiness bordering on juicy citrus. Hops linger long and hard in the nooks and crannies of the mouth. An APA but seems to long to be an IPA. Dee-lish-us!!

Prosit!!
