On tap at the source with the family for Easter, served in a dimpled mug.Lightly hazy medium to dark brown with a rich frothy tan head that slowly recedes. Caramel maltiness with earthy hops to balance light astringency. Pretty nice.

Aggressively poured from a growler into a pint glass. Color is brown with an auburn hue. It is slighly cloudy, definitely not clear. There was a thin off-white head that quicky faded.
Smell hints at chocolate and toffee.
Taste is mainly of chocolate and burnt malt. Pleasant bitterness in the finish. Alcohol taste not present.
The taste in the beer seems to be more subtle than many of Martha's other beers. A decent session beer really.

Poured a powdery brown hue with a one finger foamy head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell was subtly sweet with a nice roasted malt aroma.
The taste was mildly sweet as well but with an overwhelming dry roasted grain flavor. Slight coffee taste as well.
The mouthfeel was full and dry.
Overall a nice brown ale. A very good session beer.

This pull of brown from the cask was not too peculiar, but very satisfying and enjoyable! It was malty sweet, with a slight tang not attributable to hops. Wonderful deep brown color and a slight head. I wish I had had time for a few more. Loved it from the cask, and would love to compare it side by side with the non cask version.

Presentation: 5 oz sampler glass from tap.
Appearance: Dark amber (light brown) with no foam.
Smell: Malty, sweet.
Taste: Sweet, similar to a bock. Hint of floral hops, touch of caramel and molassess. Very high hop bitterness for a Brown Ale.
Mouthfeel: Very smooth, low carbonation, but a bit thin on body.
Drinkability: Decent, but a little too hopped for a brown ale for my tastes.

Another new bier from Greg Ouellette at Martha's, replacing the old Downtown Brown.... Color was brown to a dark-copper hue; very minimal head, though. Whiffs of roasty, malty notes on the nose; not overly strong.... Body was a bit thinner than expected, but still fair on the tongue... Flavor hits you with some roasty, dry malty flavors; a touch bitter, finishing on the dry side... A decent effort...
