Another new offering from Greg, this a one-off to celebrate 15 years of brewing at Martha's.
A tulip-shaped glass, of about 12oz or so, was placed before me. In it sat a clear, medium gold liquid with some sporadic carbo rising within. Wispy white trails of foam laced up the sides of the glass, with a thin ring of white bubbles clinging to the edge of the tulip. Nose was on the lighter side, with some biscuity sweetness mixing with mild tropical fruit and a touch of spiciness. Body was a solid medium, and save for a smidge of prickliness, it was rather smooth on the tongue.
Flavor? Oh yeah... I like it! Starts with mild sweetness, just the right level, and a touch of toasty malt. Things then get fruity, with some mango and pear checking in here, and a hint of a rindy character from the orange peel used. Subtle bubblegum flavor lurks, along with a yeasty spiciness. The finish is a tad dry, with the tropical fruits lingering a bit. Somewhat Tripel-like, this is quite good, and I plan to return for more soon.
Zum Wohl!!
