On tap at the source.
Pours a clear solid light amber color with a thinnish off white head that dissipates slowly. Smells of citrus and earthy hops with a smattering of bready, dare I say, biscuit-y malt. Light hints of caramel in there as well. Smells great for a pale ale. Taste follows the smell really well, bready biscuit and a hint of caramel backed up with enough citrus and earth to keep me interested. Medium to thin body, medium level of carbonation, slick smooth almost resinous mouthfeel. I'd never tried this before on many a trip to Martha's and I'm really glad I did. This is a smooth, clean, well balanced easy to drink pale ale.

Slight haze with a thick head on this copper - amber beer. Low carbonation, probably due to it being bottled from a keg or cask.

Small aroma. I couldn't get any, maybe slight hops. Mild yeasty bready smell.

Sweet malt back bone that the hops keep in check. Bready biscuit like flavor. Mild bitter puckering aftertaste, not unpleasant. Good hop flavor.

Thin body, maybe due to low carbonation. Easy drinking and smooth. Session able and could drink this all night.

Cask. A bright copper-orange color with a rather thick off-white head. Tons of lacing left on the glass. Aroma is fruity, hoppy, and overall pleasant. The flavor is slightly sweet with a somewhat strong grapefruit hoppiness to it. Some malts in the background. Almost seemed more like an IPA than a Pale Ale, it certainly had a lot of flavor. But I felt the same way about the "Another Ale" I had at Martha's. Medium-bodied and pretty easy drinking if you like the style.

Slight chill haze, light amber color; nearly no head, but the little bubbles present did stick to the glass.

Slight hop aroma but too mild for my nose. I struggled to even get that.

Lots of fresh hop bite. Although this is listed as an APA, the brewpub called this an IPA. Hop-wise, it falls in between. The lack of malt balance places this brew perhaps closer to the IPA monicker. The body leans to the the fuller side with a lots of carbonation.

This is an easy to drink pale ale.

Had this on tap at Martha's. The name had me thinking it would be bready, but the description told me average Pale Ale. Turns out the second one was right. Poured cloudy orange with little head. Had a mild smell and taste; nothing out of the oridnary. Was very smooth and easy drinking. Left only a mild aftertase. Very good beer that I would try again.

My second offering from Martha's Exchange (8/1/06) (RIP JG)

2" thick foamy head. Totally clear, no bubbles (CC) Served at room temp. Golden Color

smells of malts and hop, slight yeast.

Taste is a dry pale hop with distinct "greenery" effect. Mild Banana-ish taste at the end.

Smooth and rich but flat due to the Cask Conditioning, not the best idea for a very hot and humid day. IMHO.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub.

This pale ale poured a cloudy, orange-amber color with white foam that settled and left some lace on the glass. The smell was very modest: malt and a trace of hops. The taste was mild malt and floral, grassy hops. A rather thin flavor. The mouthfeel was smooth and hoppy. The body was medium with low carbonation. There was a mild aftertaste of malt and bitter hops. This was a decent pale ale but somewhat thin on taste. Based on the name, I was looking forward to some biscuity flavor, but alas there was none in this sample.

Another new offering from Greg at Marthas... This sucka has a light-to-medium copper color, with some chill haze. Possesses a thin, fine, creamy white head, leaving decent lacing. Nose was a mild one, emitting biscuity malt notes, along with some floral, hop aromas. It was fairly smooth, due to minimum carbonation, though the body was slightly thin. Tasting the Biscuit City, I noted some mild biscuit malt, along with a prominent floral, hop profile. Fairly decent, all-in-all!
