I had higher hopes than it delivered. Chocolate and smoke. But that’s about it. Nothing much beyond that. But good texture and overall a good beer. Not my first choice nor my last.

Poured on-tap and served in a tumbler pint, the beer is an extremely dark auburn-brown coloring with a tall, dense, chunky, brown head that has a very decent retention as you go. This beer pours like a thick Oatmeal Stout. Aromas of smoke, roast, dark chocolate, and an underlying earthy tone. Smells intriguing. Flavors are rich and robust, with a campfire smokiness first and foremost, followed by a solid toffee backbone that has a subtle bitterness to it, with a hint of roasted coffee jumping into the mix at the end of the palate. Tasty, and the flavors ride a light, smooth body into a smokey, roasted aftertaste. Slick, sparse cling along the glass as you drink, leading to a clean, smooth finish. Good, solid beer.
