Go, Local Team! Let's kick a homerun!... errrrr... shoot a touchdown? Ok, look... Some of us are big "sports" people, some just aren't. But we aren't going to judge you here at Canyon Club! Whether you're watching one of the many games as baseball is about to get started, as basketball presses on, or if you're just here to cut loose outside of work and home, Sports Machine is the perfect play to call! With 3 different malts, toasted rice, and rolled oats in a low-temp mash, and 5 different hop additions (including both Cryo and Incognito Mosaic at different points), this beer is smooth and crispy, with a nice rounded body and a little juiciness on the palette. And it's nice and clear to boot! With a QB-sneak, this smoothly delivers that 8% ABV right past the defense so well that I swear you'll see a glass of it on Sports Center later... I'd say no matter what, ordering one of these is a definitely a homerun! Yaaaaaayyyyyy sportsball!!!

Here's another selection from February 2023 at the dipa festival. Over 14 months later, both adding, and reviewing this beer for this Next Glass owned database. You're welcome.gif. I hate just about everybody who uses the term sportsball. Nerds.

Pours golden, decent clarity. Its interesting here, there's both rice (helps w clarity generally) and rolled oats (doesn't help w clarity generally), but it seems to win out leaning as a west coast style subgenre from the appearance. The aroma hits the fruity berry essence of Mosaic with a fractional amount of tropical and stone fruit feels behind that.

The taste follows the nose to use the cliche, its mostly Mosaic hitting here, maybe some Nectaron/Strata/HBC 586 going on to a lesser degree. Turn my way. Body and hop combo has a light coppery feel to it, but hides the alcohol pretty well and the result = crushable. I never see this brewery anywhere but this festival. I usually go back to them every year given that aspect of things, but this was a good beer.
