a pretty darn dynamic beer, reminds me of something grimm or somebody would make, a high compliment. its not really a berliner, more of a generic american kettle sour, but we still do not have a category for that here on BA somehow. its pink in color, a little hazy, and amazingly fragrant from the tap, with strong fresh zested lemon and vanilla bean in addition to the raspberry tang and the lactic pucker of the base beer, intense, which usually i dont love, but its not sweet or forced to me, and kind of has a summery melted popsicle vibe that i find appealing. the raspberry is bold as it smells in the taste, but really pretty natural too, forward in the mix but present all the way through the finish, really nicely highlighted by all the lemon too, which is about as robust as the berry, adding to the pucker but also kind of increasing the refreshment value for me. i could take or leave the vanilla, it sweetens this some, and really isnt necessary, but if its going to be here, they did a good job with authenticity and proportionality. a little light on the carbonation, a tad stronger than these usually seem to be, and probably closest to a berliner as a base beer, has to be some wheat in this. nice stuff overall, glad these guys got their operation off the ground, i have liked what ive had so far!
