#1810 - Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Pitch black, even held right by/touching a halogen bulb. Pours with a brief 1mm very dark tan foam cap.
S- BOOOOF!! Liquor, is it whisky barrel (? or possibly rum?).
T- Feels viscous, briefly slightly sharp/sour (fruit) yet then deeply roasty-toasty too -- all of that in the first sip and first second. I'm not sure what the fruit is here, yet; but it's not objectionable as some added fruits can be. It's brightness seems a positive, a leavening note, together with a notably (very) pungent black beer.
F- Deep, pungent, but with a facet of fruity brightness. - The fruit aspect seems like blackberry, or cherry?
O- I wonder how this evolves as it warms up from fridge cold. I wouldn't wish to linger and have the fruit become too prominent/loud. Yet, it's quite a beast, and not to be hurried. What a lovely dilemma to have tonight...
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the lables to see what I missed! ==> Ingreds. incl. rye, wheat, oats, raspberries
440ml can BB: 03/07/2022 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.
