Jet black body. Decent head production and fair retention.
Tons - and I mean tons - of coffee on the nose, accented by caramel and slightly burnt toast - like you would find in a grilled cheese sandwich.
Definitely translates to the palate, with strong, bitter black coffee taking the lead, and balancing notes of caramel, brown sugar, and molasses far in the background. Little to suggest this is a milk stout, although there is a touch of cream; this is a COFFEE stout (or perhaps COFFEE STOUT).
Really good overall. Smooth presentation. Not the smoothest or most balanced coffee stout, if you’re looking for a coffee-dominant experience, you can’t go wrong here.
