Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 11/22/22.
Appearance: rich, dark brown hue with a clear body and a finger of frothy tan foam atop. Some nice dark-ruby-red highlights are seen when the beer's held up to the light.
Smell: aroma is a bit yeasty, with a toasty, biscuity, caramelly malt character. Not too bad.
Taste: sweetish malt with a fair amount of caramel and toast character. There's a little bit of roast, and an almost-astringent aftertaste. Not too bad, although I feel it lacks a certain smoothness.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a decent enough English porter, although I don't see myself seeking this out again.
