On-tap at Long Valley Pub & Brewery, Long Valley, NJ

A: The beer is essentially jet black in color—only traces of amber are visible near the edge of the glass. It poured with a finger high tan head that died down, leaving wispy lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of dark and roasted malts are present in the nose.
T: The overall taste is dominated by flavors of dark roasted malts.
M: It feels medium-bodied and has a moderate amount of carbonation. There is a light amount of dryness towards the finish.
O: I felt that this beer was a good representation of the style, especially since it ended with some dryness in the finish.

Poured black into a pint glass. Not much head, but very creamy. Good lacing around the glass. Some light passes through, but not much. It was dispensed through a nitrogen tap, and according to the server, was brew with Guiness in mind

I was surprised that a slight mineral quality came through in the nose. Roasted malt and barley was also present. Very slight dark chocolate.

The carbonation was higher than I expected, but it wasn't overpowering. Nice roasted malt and barley flavor. Some dark chocolate with berries comes through. No hoppiness whatesoever. Very slight sourness on the far back palate. It adds a crispness to the beer.

Once of the best beers I have had at Long Valley and really one of the best examples of a dry stout I have ever had.
