Like many of the Long Valley beers this one’s most redeeming feature is its appearance. Pours deep reddish amber, quite clear, with a nice cap of cream colored head that settles slowly and excellent sticky lace. The aroma is quite mild; some lightly toasted malt and a hint of floral hops. I really had to stick my nose in the glass to get much of anything.

Flavor is also quite bland and in keeping with commercial Irish ales like Killian’s, etc. Light toasty malt with some caramel sweetness and a buried floral hoppiness. Seems plain but also a little overly sweet. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation, decently smooth mouthfeel. Not terrible, not particularly memorable, and yet another disappointing, totally middling offering by this brewpub. They seem to go out of their way to avoid making anything overly flavorful or unique.
