Wonderful vibe. Families, young adults and others fill the place. Rotating food trucks - never had a bad one & a great BBQ next door (same building). Beer is above average. Draft list covers a wide variety for all to find something to drink.

stopped here for a few beers on a Sunday afternoon. In a cool old industrial building, rustic exposed structure inside. long bar, with tables filling the rest of the place with random old chairs. decent variety of beers styles, but also has about 6 different IPAs. The beers I tried varied in quality from just okay to good.

Attic Brewing isn't in the nicest part of Germantown, but neither is it in the worst part of Germantown. In my opinion the area it's in is improving, and I believe that Attic is part of that, so kudos to them for that. It's also a block away from Merzbacher's Bakery which is great! Unfortunately they don't open until 4 pm but if you're there at the right time be sure to stop in and check them out as well. Back to Attic and their location, the one thing that is probably both good and bad for them is that Berkley Street is heavily traveled. That means lots of people will see them, but if you're sitting at one of their tables out front it can be distracting; or maybe interesting to some, what do I know? Fortunately they have a beer garden that well tucked away behind the building where you'll be in your own little oasis (weather permitting). I should also note at this point that they have a large parking lot so you don't have to worry about parking on a busy street. The building itself is actually pretty spectacular to look at. It's steel framed with a brick exterior and walls, and you just don't find buildings like these anymore. No one builds them because they're too expensive. Of course it's well-worn but that also adds to its charm in my opinion. Inside it's comfortable and nicely done. They've put a lot of work into it and it shows. Now, don't expect anything like an Iron Hill Brewery, it's not fancy and polished like that, but it's nicely done and more relaxed and comfortable in my opinion. Now, the best part, the beer and food. There's no food other than snacks but there's a Deke's BBQ attached and you can't go wrong with them. You could also grab something from Merzbacher's, or bring something from somewhere else. There are 14 beers on tap, as well as a few additional things in cans unless they've sold out. That's a good selection in my opinion, and I think they've kept it fairly well rounded. They don't have a very light and non-hoppy beer for those that generally don't drink beer (and they should), but I can live with that. And on that note, thankfully they don't do anything like hard seltzer or frozen beers. They're keeping it real and I appreciate that. I haven't taken a look at their cellar but I'm guessing they've got a fair amount of tanks as the beers seem completely finished, and they always have lagers and Belgians available alongside their NEIPAs, and the usual pale, dark, and strong offerings. That's hard to pull off and I respect them for that. They're also releasing new beers all of the time, so that keeps their lineup fresh. If you have the opportunity give them a try!
