My favorite beer store owner was raving about it, so I had to give it a try. I’ve kind of given up on most milkshake style IPAs, with the exception of certain breweries. Appearance is probably the best thing about this one-it’s got that kind of muddy tannish color about it that usually means an amazing NEIPA. Emphasis on “kind of”, because it doesn’t deliver the amazing part. Big notes of tangerine on the smell, but the vanilla and milk sugar assert their presence well. A very juicy taste, almost too much like a fruit juice. Sweet, but the vanilla and milk sugar are muted, and it’s not as hoppy as I want it to be. Medium bodied, slightly dry finish, creamy, thick. Very good, but just short of excellent.

Hazy yellow/orange body with a full white head. Actually have hop bitters for a fleeting moment in the smell before tangerine creamsicle takes over. Really like the tangerine creamsicle combo in the taste, not as heavy handed as orange, hop bitters kiss the finish, the middle though is pretty light with vanilla, sugar, lemon, and peach bridging. Feel is light for style, creamy, bright, and sneaky juicy. Thanks Nick for the can!

L: brilliant opaque tangerine colored body; foamy ivory head holds incredible retention
S: fresh tangerine, vanilla, mango, cream, tropical fruit
T: sweet & tangy: tangerine, creamy lactose, vanilla, piney mango, orange marmalade
F: creamy and full bodied, moderate carbonation, tangy and almost sour finish with moderate zesty bitterness - orange creamsicle lingers in the aftertaste
O: I am usually not a fan of citrus and cream together - always hated creamsicles; in my mind those flavors do not go together. This, however, is done well for what it is supposed to be - a milkshake IPA with tangerine puree. Would I get it again? No, but it is good enough to recommend to someone who likes citrusy milkshake IPAs.
