According to the description I saw today, this NE IPA is brewed with equal parts Citra and Strata hops throughout the entire process. . . .
A: Poured from the crowler into a tulip glass. Body is hazy - milkshake hazy - yellow-golden with a half-finger of off-white head on top. Good look for the style.
S: Nice nose - juicy hops jump out of the glass and into your nose: lemony, citrusy hops with tropical fruit. Also raw, fresh, green hops - pine needles and dank buds.
T: Minor letdown from the nose - pineapple-orange juice with lemon and grapefruit peel. Grassy, piney bitterness. Heat from the 8.5% ABV is noted on the way down and in the belly.
M: Taste is good, it's more the feel that detracts from the overall impression a tiny bit - though I've been drinking a lot of Tree House beers lately and so may be spoiled. It's . . . almost too smooth, if that makes sense. The beer washes over your tongue rather than grab a hold of it anywhere.
O: Very good. Could use a little more carbonation or "bite" on the feel, but it's a tasty NE IPA.
