Abstract Composition W/ Lime

my first from fidens, a beer i wanted to like a lot more than i actually did, the lime seems overdone and as such a bit unnatural, which is a shame because the base rice lager seems quite good, but the lime takes over and throws it off. neat can are, real well branded, looks like something i would buy. the pour is lovely, crystal clear and very pale, even lighter than blonde, almost watered down looking, nice shine and peppy carbonation, and a tall white head over an inch high and lasting, pure snow white, beautiful pour. the nose is fine, lime forward and a little synthetic to me, but juicy, like lemon lime soda, and neat the a little floral aspect that must be from the rice. also the lager yeast has some appreciable character, light as this is overall, very nice, id love to try the version with no lime. the flavor is way over the top on the lime, and it doesnt quite seem real, a little lime hard candy thing going on, runs over the delicate nature of the rest of the beer, which is a shame. it seems floral and springy and high rice, with great water chemistry, and a nice professional ferment, not neutral in a good way, and with a white wine note and a ton of bubbles, but the lime is forced and it stays with me past the swallow, heavies this up and compromises its apparently high refreshment value. its not gross, its just a little cheap and the proportion is off. under it though i think i love the base beer, so ill need to find that one next time back east. i also like the contributions from both the rice and the yeast, pleasant. good carbonation too this really zings. summery but less or no lime would improve this, it kind of standardizes it with inferior beers that seem to use similar lime extract or whatever is in here, and its do its detriment, almost a perfume aspect, otherwise technically very good.

A light, refreshing lager with lime as advertised. Canning date unclear but this was brewed in mid-July 2024.
