Picked this up not too long ago at Gary's in Madison, as I never had anything from Twelve Percent before. This looked interesting and it was a perfectly fine, serviceable IPA that was easy to drink, plenty soft, and had a nice flavor profile to it although it didn't break any new ground in the process.
This had a cloudy, golden, and murky hue to it as it was topped off with plenty of thick, evenly-settling head. A ton of thick, layered lacing remained as I worked my way through this as it was some of the best that I've seen in quite some time. Gorgeous rings seeped down into the ones below as the suds easily covered a majority of my glass. Lots of deep orange blossom floral notes were on the nose, with some exotic fruit fruit cocktail, and turbid hops as the taste was just as deep, varied, and acrid in the back. A subtle burn emerged in the aftertaste as this was slightly slick, slightly sticky, and relatively relaxed for the style.
There was just enough booze in here as a hint of oats helped to round this out and take the edge off of the hops and biting fruit notes. Dated 5/3 on the bottom of the can, this held up well and had my attention throughout. Just exotic enough while being familiar, I enjoyed this beer and would get something from these guys again, should I come across them!
