awesome little bottle of beer here, courtesy of my buddy, never even heard of these guys before this one, but now im all curious and stoked, this was very good. a mixed fermented sour with some time in oak. they say peach and toasted orange peel, but its unclear if those are added or if they are just tasting notes, im not sure id call either of them out as obvious ingredients in the aroma or flavor, but i really liked this orangish blonde slightly hazy funked out offering. its got a neat fermentation profile to it, quite unique, and yeah its sour, but there is distinct meyer lemon fruitiness to the bacterial element and its cleaner than most, its also pretty bretty for it being this acidic, usually its one outcompeting the other, but here its both. sort of even a lambic note in the nose. definite orchard fruit character, jasmine and elderflower too, and bitter herbs and citrus pith in the flavor as it warms, a good amount of oak and a white wine character about it there, effervescent carbonation, a finishing dryness, and some relatively sturdy wheat underneath it all, at least i think so. the tartness is there but its not exceedingly sour, the oak mellows it, and there are neat summery essences here, peach sure, maybe a little honeydew too, clementine, and lemon. delicious beer with a cool mix of flavors, seems botanical and organic and not just because the label paints that picture, and i love the fermentation profile. will be on the hunt for more from these guys next time i make it across the pond!
