DATE: June 13, 2016... GLASSWARE: Victory Nonick...OCCASSION: Watching the Cavs in Game Five, down 3-1--can they stay alive?... Picked up this growler tonight, with the hopes of celebrating something.... pours a solid amber body with a hairline of white that rims the glass... a smear of white hazes the surface... a maltier, caramel allure with some earthy peat... the citrus is subdued, so much so that the beer resembles an ESB... the palate holds a buttery smoothness, with an effervescent start and a hearty finish that lingers slightly... unfortunately, buttery is not the quality sought after in a pale....no resin, no spruce--this is the knock most easily leveled against this, in a land where there are more flavorful pales--not to mention session IPAs--than I can count...the caramel and slight nuttiness make for some interest in an otherwise pedestrian, sessionable drink I have had quite often....

9/13...brewery draft. Pours bright amber. Heavy foam, especially around the edge. Mellow malty nose. Soft fruity taste and a bitter hop that pokes through early. Grapefruit bitter like. A little uneven.

Light copper red body color with a off white head.
Caramel malt and some fruity notes. Not much else.
I get more of the same with the taste. It says compare to an IPA but it's only slightly bitter -- more malt based than hoppy, I think. It's crisp -- almost like a lager. Am I missing something?
Light body, pretty easy going down. Doesn't dry out the mouth at all.
This is a decent Pale Ale. Nothing special -- easy to drink. That's about it.

A: Looks like cream soda...and someone managed to finally poor a beer with a head. Large soap-like bubbles rise up like a bubble bath torrent.
S: Light, but crisp, hop action, mild pine with a touch of citrus. There is some sweetness hanging in the back from malts.
T: Very much like the aroma, muted hops and some sweet and caramel like malts.
M: Refreshing and crisp.
D: Like most Krogh's beers, nicely done, but not pushing the boundaries or getting too risky. It's refreshing characteristic makes it a touch more drinkable, especially to wash down their meals.

This is a very above average pale ale. Light coppery body with a thin white head, a nice aroma of oily hop flowers. Mild carbonation and a crisp wheat maltiness make balance out the decent amount of hops in this brew. This is an easy drinker...good alone for a nice kick of hops and would pair well with any of Krogh's wonderful food selections.
