The Pugs and the Pit is a collaboration with our friends at Moksa Brewing. While a good portion of this beer is currently resting in barrels, a small amount has been aging on Ugandan vanilla beans and cocoa nibs before being canned for your enjoyment. The beer offers a more balanced approach to today’s adjunct stouts with upfront notes of melted chocolate that coat your palate, complimented by notes of vanilla and caramel on the backend.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a finger and a half high mocha-colored head that gradually died down, leaving a narrow collar around the edge, a patch of bubbles on the surface, and lots of lacy rings of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of chocolate and cocoa nibs are present in the nose along with hints of vanilla beans.
T: The taste follows the smell and is very chocolatey with some subtle notes of sweetness.
M: It feels full-bodied, slick and smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This stout is very rich and has a very nice rich and slick mouthfeel. It also does a very good job at masking any traces of alcohol.
