This one pours a fairly dark brown color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like sweet caramel, and some chocolate.
The various other Maris barleywines I’ve had from Timber have unfortunately all been much better than this one was. This was just quite one note – sweet caramel, and not much else. There really wasn’t a ton of discernible barrel character – the flavor just sort of trails off, with nothing lingering on the finish at all.
This is thick and sweet, but it’s not super drinkable.
Timber is one of my absolute favorite breweries, but this particular batch of Maris was disappointing.

A - Black pour with no lacing and no carbonation, pours like the dead sea.
S - Toasted toffee with spicy rye and booziness.
T - Toasted toffee, spicy rye, and Bourbon.
M - Big silky body that's silky smooth and warming in the back of the throat on the way down.
O - Pretty fantastic right here and worth checking out.
