This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This has a wonderfully inviting apple brandy aroma to it, just dynamite. There’s roasted apple, caramel, spicy oak, deep dark chocolate fudge, marshmallow, and coffee.
I don’t see apple brandy barrel aged beers as much as I really want to. The 30 months in barrels has really made this a knockout – the barrel has transformed the beer without completely overwhelming it. It’s deeply fudgy, spicy, and dense, like high quality dark chocolate, with lots oaky spiciness, some vanilla and almost marshmallow notes, and a wonderful caramel apple vibe from the barrel.
This is very thick and fudgy, but not syrupy, with a great drinkability, and not that much booziness.
This is one of the best Timber beers that I’ve had in a while now, it’s so good.
