Poured into a Stone Gargoyle flute. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head that dissipates to a thick cap patches with nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, bakers chocolate, molasses and coffee. Flavor is dark toasted malt, bakers chocolate, allspice, light vanilla and woody oak. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess; nice mouth feel. Another thick, deep bodied stout from Timber. Nice dry chocolate and coffee. No distinct winter spices, but reminiscent of the aptly named allspice; spices are at the perfect level; a clear note, but not dominating; as is the vanilla. I think this technically Blended WIth Lumber #8; it has the fine character of that series. Excellent blended stout.
