Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a thin, dark khaki head that slowly dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, milk chocolate, cinnamon, light coffee and molasses. Flavor follows, with dark chocolate, cinnamon, drip coffee, molasses and a touch of vanilla and malted milk. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. A rich, creamy stout with a nice light touch of cinnamon, some coffee, but muted. Not getting much whiskey barrel, but it's not needed; this is flavorful enough as it is. Usual great mouth feel from Timber. A fine winter warmer of a stout. ABV well covered.

As with most all, this pours jet black with brown frothy thick head. Nose is cinnamon and vanilla and maybe chocolate. Taste is as nose with a booziness on top.

Built for the holidays, Timber Ales offer up their own cup of cheer. Their pastry stout rolls in the holiday flavors of coffee and cinnamon for that extra little jolly pep.
Jet black and with a motor oil consistency, Blended for Xmas builds a patient mocha whipped froth and an emboldened scent of dark roast coffee, chocolate, holiday spice and a twinge of kahlua-like alcohol. As its nougat sweetness coats the tongue, sweeter flavors of dark chocolate, molasses, vanilla cream and malted milk candies precede a darker and more savory espresso flavor. Trending deep and bitter with cocoa covered espresso bean, the finish is brightened with the extra warmth of cinnamon and alcohol.
Well balanced for a pastry stout, the dark ale gets away from its brownie batter character is the taste finishes, favoring a bitter coffee and spicy nod to drinkabililty. Unfortunately any barrel quality is lacking and would have provided a much needed set of complexity and roundness.

12oz can from Tavour. Near black pour, silky beige head. Heady aroma of fudge, roasty malts, caramel, licorice. Taste takes a turn towards the savory, anise, fudge, sweet, chocolate syrup. Super sweet with a mildly dry finish. Heavy, thick.

Pours pitch black with a thick dark brown head. Just beautiful. Smells chocolatey, malty and sweet but not overly so. Taste follows the smell with lots of cinnamon in the finish. Mouthfeel is a little thin. Overall a great winter beer and I would definitely drink it again.
