This was a present for Father's Day in September 2024 that was drunk in January 2025.
L: Hazy gold and yellow with a very thin, bright white head. Some carbonation can be seen through the murk. I'm no expert, but I would have expected a voluminous, hefeweizen-style head on this one.
S: The nose is citrus with a Belgiany/hefeweizen yeastynees with a touch of clove.
T: The taste is clovey, estery and peppery - just like the aroma - with a thin finish. A yeasty aftertaste hangs around after swallow. Bitterness is citric and medium. The peppery note clashes with the cloves and makes this beer a little muddled.
M: The mouthfeel is quite full, although the end is a little on the theme side. Carbonation is mild, and carbonic prickle is minimal.
O: For me, this one was a Belgian ale in a hefeweizen body and never quite pulled off either.
Cheers!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
